Legend has it that when Paul Bunyan looked back and saw the impact he’d made on the lush forests of what would become Arizona, he decided to hang up his ax. And on that very spot, Sweet Slade’s was born. Seven lanes of ax throwing now stand in his honor.

Rules to Know Before You Throw:

In order to make sure your axe-throwing experience is all fun and games, here are the rules of Sweet Slade’s axe-throwing venue:

  • Everyone must sign a waiver before their axe-throwing session. Minors must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian/parent.

  • Closed-toed shoes are required.

  • The minimum age for axe-throwing is 12. Throwers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Waiver Policy for Guests Under 18

All guests 17 years old and younger must have a waiver signed by their own parent or legal guardian before they can participate.

    • A parent/guardian may sign the waiver online in advance or in person at check-in.

    • If a minor arrives with friends or another family, their own parent or legal guardian must still complete the waiver.

    • A friend’s parent, coach, or group leader cannot sign on behalf of another child unless they are that child’s legal guardian.

No exceptions — this is for everyone’s safety.

  • Axes cannot leave the lane or be handed from person to person. Throwers will retrieve the axe from the designated holder before throwing.

  • ABSOLUTELY NO HORSEPLAY TOLERATED. Axe-throwing is a lot of fun, but if the supervisor sees rules disregarded or throwers messing around in a way that puts others at risk, you will be asked to leave the premises.

  • Throwers cannot throw while inebriated. If you arrive for your axe-throwing session under the influence, you will be asked to reschedule.

Axe-throwing at Sweet Slade’s is a unique way to make memories — whether you’re flying solo or rolling in with a group. Swing by, grab some axes, and get axe-cited!
